Lucknow | Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed programme in Lucknow, the city police have stepped up preparations with an intensive review of security arrangements. On Sunday, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) conducted a thorough inspection of the venue — Prerna Sthal — and the adjoining stretches to assess the on-ground readiness.
Senior officials, including ACPs from Chowk, Kakori–Wazirganj, Dubagga and other police teams, were present during the inspection. The review focused on barricading, CCTV coverage, access routes, deployment of security personnel, and overall crowd-management strategy. With the possibility of a large turnout, special emphasis has been placed on ensuring smooth traffic movement across the city. A detailed diversion plan has been prepared to regulate vehicular flow and minimise congestion in sensitive zones.
To bolster surveillance, drone and anti-drone systems are being positioned around the venue. These measures will enable teams to detect and respond swiftly to any suspicious activity. Medical preparedness has also been prioritised — dedicated medical units, ambulances, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) are scheduled for deployment to handle emergencies.

Officials involved in the inspection reiterated that absolute vigilance is mandatory and no lapse will be tolerated. All police zones have been directed to work in coordination to ensure a seamless and secure environment during the Prime Minister’s visit.
The city administration is expected to issue detailed advisories for commuters as final preparations are completed.
